Square, for wholesale and cafe ordering.
Connect the Square catalog you already use. Give business buyers a wholesale customer portal, or give cafe customers a branded ordering app. Choose either product, or use both.
For your business buyers
Wholesale with Square
Bring your Square products into Crate, choose what wholesale customers can buy, and give each account the right pricing. Keep Square invoicing when it is your selected invoice system.
Connect Square
Authorize your Square account from Integrations. Crate keeps the connection and catalog sync status in view.
Review your catalog
Use Sales channel sync to review changes and bring products into Crate, including variations, images, and tracked inventory.
Choose your wholesale range
Set wholesale availability and prices in Crate so customers see the products and prices intended for their accounts.
Follow the order through payment
When Square is your invoice system, wholesale orders can use Square invoices and payment links. Payment updates are reflected in Crate.
Do I need to recreate my Square products?
No. Crate can pull your existing products and variations from Square. You then choose the wholesale selection and pricing in Crate.
Can I keep my wholesale catalog separate?
Yes. You can choose a Crate-managed catalog instead of pulling it from Square. The integration settings make that choice explicit.
Can I use QuickBooks for invoices while keeping Square connected?
Yes. Square can remain your commerce connection while QuickBooks Online is selected for invoicing. The selected invoice system determines where new invoices are created.
For your cafe customers
Cafe ordering with Square
Use your Square menu in a branded iOS and Android cafe app. Customers choose items and modifiers, pay and order for pickup, with built-in Crate loyalty.
Cafe ordering from $80/month. No Crate per-order fee. Payment processing and app-store account costs are separate.
Can I use my Square menu in a branded mobile app?
Yes. Crate Cafe ordering uses your connected Square menu, including item options and modifiers. Customers browse an app with your business name and branding, rather than a shared marketplace.
Where do app orders and payments go?
The Square cafe ordering flow creates pickup orders in Square and processes payment through Square. Customers select their items and available modifiers in the app before checkout.
Where should I manage menu items and modifiers?
Maintain the connected menu in Square. Crate uses synced items and modifiers for app ordering, and validates selected options during checkout. Show us your actual menu during setup so we can check the customer experience together.
Do I need a Square Loyalty subscription?
Crate has its own built-in loyalty. You do not need a separate Square Loyalty subscription to use Crate rewards. This is not a promise to transfer existing Square Loyalty balances.
Can customers use iPhone and Android?
Crate Cafe ordering offers branded iOS and Android apps.
Does this replace my wholesale customer portal?
No. Cafe ordering is for customers buying from your cafe. Crate Wholesale is a separate product for business buyers with customer logins and custom prices. Choose the product that fits your business.
