Can I use my Shopify products in the wholesale portal?
Yes. Connect your store and Crate imports your Shopify products and variants. Active products are always included, and you can add other Shopify product statuses. You can also keep a separate wholesale catalog in Crate.
Do wholesale prices change my Shopify retail prices?
No. Wholesale prices live in Crate and only show to signed-in wholesale buyers. Your Shopify storefront prices stay the same.
Do wholesale orders sync into Shopify?
Crate creates a Shopify draft order when Shopify sends the invoice, or when a buyer pays up front through a Shopify payment link. Shopify turns it into a regular order once it is paid. Orders invoiced with QuickBooks Online or Crate stay in Crate.
Are invoices created in Shopify?
If Shopify is your invoice system, Crate sends a Shopify draft-order invoice with a checkout link, and payment updates return to the order in Crate. You can choose QuickBooks Online or Crate invoicing instead.
What happens to inventory?
Crate reads your Shopify stock and keeps it current. If an item tracks inventory, is at zero and is set in Shopify to stop selling, buyers see it as unavailable. You can instead let buyers order it with a lead time, or ask them to contact you. Wholesale orders do not lower your Shopify stock counts, so adjust stock in Shopify when you ship.
Do I need Shopify to use Crate?
No. Crate also works with Square and Clover, or on its own.
How is this different from Shopify B2B?
Crate gives each account its own prices on Basic, Grow and Advanced, adds standing orders, and runs a separate wholesale portal. Native B2B on those plans allows up to three active catalogs, and assigning a catalog directly to a company location needs Plus.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
No. Crate works on any Shopify plan.
